The VPI can be applied in any plant. You can connect it to your control system in a number of ways, depending on your communication infrastructure.
Real-time information of your assets is key to ensuring optimal plant performance.
To cater to this, the Sofis VPI is a high-performance switch box for sending valve position data of your manual multi-turn valve to your DCS.
The Valve Position Indicator detects when your valves have reached their open or closed position, sending a signal to your DCS to prevent safety issues or product contamination typically caused by incorrect valve line-ups.
Accurate and reliable position information of your manual valves allows you to further optimise your plant processes. By using position indicators on your manual multi-turn valves you have up-to-date status information in your control room, ensuring that many processes operate ‘right first time’ as well as improving your plants operational efficiency.
We can also supply intrinsically safe variants of the Sofis VPI A/S Series which are Atex and IECEx certified as well as flame proof options.
This version is equipped with an external, Ex d junction box. The Ex d version can be equipped with a range of sensors and switches from Pepperl+Fuchs, Omron, GO Switch, Bartec, Stahl and Euroswitch.
VPIs can also be supplied with optional LED indicators for in-field position indication. The LED’s clearly display which position the VPI is signalling to the control room so that your operators can spot manual valve status from a distance.
The VPI can be applied in any plant. You can connect it to your control system in a number of ways, depending on your communication infrastructure.
